SUNSET - Robert Lewis Vega 39, our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, died Thursday, Feb. 2, at the University medical Center from complications following surgery. He was born Jan. 3, 1950, in East Carbon City, Utah, a son of Isador M. and Connie Martinez Vega. He married Debbie Lee Felter on Oct. 1, 1984, in Ogden, Utah. He was reared and educated in Utah, and graduated from Bonneville High School, in 1969. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton. He had worked at Hill Air Force Base for the past 18 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors. Surviving is his wife of Sunset, five sons and one daughter: Robert Vega and Brian Vega, Roy; Vincent Vega, and Christopher Vega, Ogden; and Robert Lewis Vega, Jr., Sunset; Tiffany Vega, Ogden, two stepsons: David Cole and Chris Felter, both of Sunset. Also surviving are his parents of Ogden, six brothers and two sisters: Gabriel Vega, Sandy; Dennis Vega, Clearfield; David Vega, Roy; George Vega, Layton; Patrick Vega, Clinton; Raymond Vega, Ogden; Mrs. Marlene Sneddon, Clearfield; and Geraldine (Gerri) Donald, Ogden. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 85 Church St., Layton. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 S. 1900 W. Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Hill Air Force Base, Honor Guard.
