Mary Anne Tarran Johnson passed away October 28th, 2006 in Evanston, Wyoming. Mary Anne was born March 10, 1951 to H.D. and Helen F. Tarran. She was raised in Ogden, Utah. She was baptized and attended the First Presbyterian Church in her youth. She attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969. She also attended Weber State University. Mary Anne worked for a number of years in Ogden at the St. Benedict’s Hospital as a lab Technician. For the past 35 years. Mary Anne has been employed by the Uinta County Sheriff’s office. In her youth, Mary Anne was active in Job’s Daughters Bethel 2 of Ogden also serving one term as Grand Bethel Honored Queen for the State of Utah. Mary Anne was also active in the P.E.O. sisterhood in both Evanston and Ogden. Mary Anne married Michael L. Johnson on April 4th, 1981 in Ogden. Together they have two children, David M. Johnson and Stephen P. Johnson. She was a devoted and loving mother actively supporting her son’s sports teams. Mary Anne also participated and managed Santa’s Workshop in Evanston for several years. She loved doing hand work and many of her creations can be found in the homes of friends and family. Surviving are her husband Mike, sons, David and Stephen of Evanston; also her mother, Helen Tarran and brother David Stephen Tarran, both of Ogden. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her father H.D. Tarran. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Union Presbyterian Church at 10th and Center Street in Evanston. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Breast Cancer fund.
