Martin Joseph Chadick
March 9, 1951 - May 27, 2026
He was the beloved father of Elizabeth Carter (Troy), Amy Campa (Joe), Morris Chadick (Jackie), and Melissa Chadick (Keith). He was an adored grandfather to Drew and Gabriel Carter, William and Abigail Campa, and Rosemary and J.J. Chadick, all of whom knew him as equal parts storyteller, teacher, comedian, and occasional troublemaker.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kirk and sister Diane. He is survived by his siblings Jeff, Tim (Donna), Morrine, and Bill (Sherrie) Chadick, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Martin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Throughout his service, he was an exceptional marksman, earning numerous distinguished honors and recognition for his skill. He returned to civilian life in 1994 upon his retirement. Never one to sit still for long, he continued working various jobs until his final retirement in 2016.
Martin enjoyed the simple things that made life good: hunting, fishing, cold beers, and trying his luck with a couple scratch-off tickets from the local gas station. He was a master at dominoes, a talented cook, and firmly established himself as the family authority on Thanksgiving stuffing. His ribs were highly requested and rarely leftover.
Some of his grandchildren’s favorite memories were made around the kitchen table playing dominoes or building gingerbread houses during the holidays — usually with equal amounts of frosting, laughter, and chaos.
Martin had a wicked sense of humor and a boyish grin that stayed with him through his final days. He passed that humor on to his children, who, even through the sorrow of losing him, continue finding themselves laughing at the countless memories and stories he left behind.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, though somewhere, we imagine he is still winning at dominoes, telling inappropriate jokes at exactly the wrong moment, and making sure nobody burns the rolls.
