Larry Lythgoe
June 25, 1951 - March 14, 2023
Larry was born on June 25th, 1951 and passed away on March 14th, 2023, the age of 71.
Larry was reunited with his eternal
sweetheart on the morning of March 14th, 2023. Larry was born on June
25th, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Earl and Lavell Lythgoe, and was the
second born of six children. He married the love of his life, Joan
Cornia, on May 4th, 1973 in the Ogden temple. Growing up Larry loved
to be active and play sports, especially softball and riding bulls.
He also became certified as a soccer coach, and spent many years
coaching his sons, and later loved watching his grandchildren play.
After graduating from high school, Larry served in the national
guard, and then spent 25 years working for AT&T, and retired when
he was 47. After he retired, he decided to go back to school, and he
received his bachelor's degree. He used that degree to become a
substitute teacher, where he loved all the children he taught. Larry
loved being around his friends and family, being center of attention,
and made friends everywhere he went. He loved being able to tell his
stories of the many adventures he use to go on. He loved
accessorizing with one of his many owl necklaces, and his rings so he
could brag about being able to fit a quarter through the middle.
Larry loved going for long drives, and just went wherever the road
would take him. He loved listening to country music, and always had a
song to sing for every occasion. If you knew Larry, you knew just how
much he loved his wife, his children, and especially his
grandchildren. When Joan's health started to decline, he would go
visit her every. single. day. at the care center where she lived. No
words can express just how much he loved his sweet Joanie. Larry is
survived by his children, Matt (Amber), Megan, Lindsay (Rebekah), and
Virginia. And his grandchildren, Sami, Nate, Jena, Alexis, Gabi,
Bryton, and Gavin. He is also survived by his siblings, Randy
(Valerie), Paul (Marjean), Claire (Danielle), Georgia (Quinn) He is
preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Joan, his parents,
Earl and Lavell, and sister, Judy. Services will be held at the
Clearfield 4th Ward, located at 838 East 600 South Clearfield, Utah.
