Tamra Lee Brown Potokar
"Nana"
May 7, 1951 ~ February 26, 2016
ROY - Our beautiful wife, mother and Nana returned home to her Father in Heaven surrounded by her loving family.
Tamra was born in Driggs, Idaho to Robert and June Brown. She grew up in South Ogden where she graduated from Bonneville High School. She also graduated from Bonneville LDS Seminary where she met her high school sweetheart, Ricky Dale Potokar. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on April 2, 1971, for time and all eternity.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings. She worked over 22 years as a ceramic teacher and teacher's aide at Lakeview Elementary School. Many people benefited from her generosity in receiving a hand painted ceramic or craft. Her greatest joys in life were her loving husband, her three daughters and seven grandchildren.
She was happiest when she was camping with family and riding four wheelers at Sourdough Wilderness Ranch. Being her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, Nana attended every sporting event, dance recital, and choir concert. A day did not go by where Nana did not express her love to each and every one of them. Her devotion to her husband, daughters and grandchildren was her top priority.
She will be dearly missed by her entire family. She is survived by her husband, Rick; daughter, Jennie (Tracy) Probert, children: Kolten, Caden, Faith, Hope and Sadie of West Haven; daughter, Hollie (Gary) Loveless, children: Madelyn and Matthew of Hooper; father, Robert (Monica) Brown; brothers, Blair and Paul Brown. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, CarolAnn Potokar; and mother, Norma June Brown.
Please wear purple to the service, Tamra's favorite color, in memory of our beautiful Nana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary at 3333 West 5600 South. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
