Evon “Woody” Waters
December 21, 1950 ~ June 15, 2015
Our beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend, Evon Waters, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2015 surrounded by his family. Evon was born on December 21, 1950 to Forrest and Eda Waters in Ogden, Utah. He was raised and lived his life in Ogden. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 through 1973. Evon was a Real Estate Broker and Real Estate Appraiser, but the heart of his career was his Real Estate Development. Evon was an avid skier, golfer, and fine dining entertainer. He was best known for his “Patio Daddio’s’ and Snow Basin "Tail Gaters". He loved life and he loved people! It brought him great joy to see others enjoying life and worked hard to make that happen. Evon was active in his community serving in organizations like Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce Exchange Club, Breakfast Club and on the Spikers Committee. He proudly volunteered at the 2002 Winter Olympics as a Slider on the Women's Downhill at Snow Basin. Evon is survived by his children, Julie (Leland) Hitchcock, Evon (Meranda) Waters Jr., and Nick (Holly) Waters; brothers; Veldon (Shirley) Waters, Lyle (Kelly) Waters, Larry Waters; sister, Kathy (Ed) Stuart; and sister in law; Ann Waters. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Forrest and Eda Waters; brother; Brent Waters; and foster sister, Maisie Jensen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may meet family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
