Lynn A. "Sammy Lynn" "Pops" Draayer, 53, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 3, 2005. He was born September 1, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Adrian Draayer Jr. and Sharon Hammon.
On September 18, 1970, Lynn married Carol Jean Wixom in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969 and attended Weber State College. Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his job as a heavy equipment operator at Hill Air Force Base. He owned and operated Big Mountain Video for eight years. Lynn enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, music, woodworking, working in his garden, fixing up old vehicles and making key chains. He especially loved spending time at his mountain property and spoiling his grandchildren at every occasion. He loved NASCAR and was an avid sports enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Carol, Roy; two sons, Little John Draayer (Tara), and Luke Benjamin Draayer, both of Roy; three daughters, Sammie Lynne Draayer (Chad), Sunset; Sandy Lee Draayer (Chris), Salt Lake City; Adrienne Joy Draayer, Roy, five grandchildren; his parents; his faithful dog, Quigley; and two sisters, Virginia Gerrish, Warrenton, Virginia; and Connie Bish, Roy. Lynn was preceded in death by two brothers, Monte and Vaughn and a granddaughter, Ayla Shea Dowdy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Roy 12th Ward Chapel, 4524 South 2525 West. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
