Funeral
services have been announced for victims of two fatal automobile accidents
Saturday morning. Services for Bruce James Carlsen, 18 of 4538 S. 1150 W. in
Riverdale, killed in a freak mishap in Ogden, have been set for 3 p.m. Tuesday
in the Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral ChapelJanuary 8, 1951 - May 3, 1969
River Victim
Mr. Carlsen was killed when his car flipped into the Ogden River. His car was
discovered at about 9 a.m. Saturday in the Ogden River just west of the River
Bridge at Washington and Park boulevards. Mr. Carlsen was born Jan. 8, 1951, in
Bismark, N.D., a son of Alexander and Dorothy E. Howard Carlsen Jr. He lived in
Bismark and in Palmer, Alaska, for seven years, coming to Riverdale 11 years
ago. He was a senior at Bonneville High School and a member of the Boys’
Chorus. He formerly attended Riverdale School and T.H. Bell School. He was a
member of the Riverdale 1st LDS Ward and was a priest and a member of
the Sunday School and YMMIA. Surviving are his parents of Riverdale, one
brother, Robert A. Carlsen, and one sister, Marianne Carlsen, both of
Riverdale; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Carlsen Sr. of Riverdale.Bishop
Ronald Hamblin of the Riverdale 1st Ward will officiate at the
funeral services.Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Washington Heights
Memorial Park.
